Leicester City Vs Legia Warsaw Preview

Leicester City host Polish outfit Legia Warsaw in the fifth match of the Europa League group stage – a win would take the Foxes from last to first in the group.

Brendan Rodgers’ side need to come out with a strong performance following a rocky start to the season epitomised by their 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea at the weekend. The match was filled with individual errors, something that is becoming more prominent for the Midlands club.

But a win here could change everything. As previously mentioned, they’d be first in the group going into the final matchday. It could be the kick starter Foxes fans have been waiting for all season as they currently occupy 12th in the Premier League.

Predicted Line-up:

Goalkeeper – Kasper Schmeichel

The Danish shot stopper is ever present and will be crucial if Leicester get all three points.

Centre-back – Daniel Amartey

A surprise star of this season, Amartey looks rejuvenated this season and has become a regular.

Centre-back – Jannik Vestergaard

In contrast, Vestergaard has been in and out of the side since his move from Southampton. The Danish defender needs to start showing his form that earnt him this move before he is labelled a flop.

Centre-back – Ryan Bertand

An experience defender, Bertrand could be a key member in this match. With his European experience, having started and won the 2012 Champions League final, there’s no reason not to play him.

Right Midfielder – Timothy Castagne

The Belgian offers a huge attacking threat. He can provide a chance out of nothing, which could be the key to unlocking Legia Warsaw’s defence.

Central Midfielder – Hamza Choudhury

Choudhury impresses when he’s given the chance and Leicester will need him in this match.

Central Midfielder – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

It would be a young midfield duo but having both come through the club’s academy, the raw passion for Leicester could be exactly what they need.
Left Midfielder – Luke Thomas

Thomas gets better with every game he plays – if Leicester need a result, he should play.

Attacking Midfielder – Ayoze Pérez

The Spaniard is yet to perform for the Foxes, but he keeps getting starts. This could be his time to shine when the club need him.

Striker – Ademola Lookman

Another player yet to get firing for Leicester, but he could start now and become an instant fan favourite.

Striker – Patson Daka

Leicester’s star of the tournament so far, his four goals in Moscow won a lot of Leicester fans over.
