Crystal Palace vs Leicester Preview – By Jamie Nicholls

This Sunday, the blues travel to the south of London to play an exciting Crystal Palace side who narrowly missed out on 3 points on Monday night thanks to a beautiful goal from highflyers Brighton’s number 9, Neal Maupay. On the back of 3 Premier League games without a win. With a 2-2 draw last weekend to struggling Burnley, how will the Foxes fare against the Eagles, who are just one point behind the blues.

Leicester looks ahead to a fixture in which they normally come away with the lion’s share, with 3 wins in the last 5 fixtures between the two sides, with Palace taking just one win. Leicester are desperate for a Premier League win again, but know that Patrick Viera’s side won’t be a pushover, as they steamrolled Spurs 3-0 not long ago at Selhurst.

ONES TO WATCH

  • Jamie Vardy vs Joachim Andersen/Marc Guehi
  • Zaha vs Pereira
  • Edouard’s physical presence is a big thing to look out for against this Leicester side who are leaking goals.

TEAM NEWS

There are no new injury worries for Palace heading into this weekend with the only players set to miss out being the long term injured young duo Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson

Leicester head into the game with no new injury worries, with again young duo Justin and Fofana remaining out injured for the long term.

HEAD-TO-HEAD STATISTICS

In our last game against Burnley, we came away with a 1-1 draw. Let’s take a deeper look at some interesting statistics from our previous encounters:

  • In the last 5 encounters, there have been 3 Leicester wins compared to Palace’s one, with the honours being shared just once.
  • Leicester haven’t lost at Selhurst Park since 2018 where they lost 1-0, the time before that, the foxes lost 5-0.

Personally, I can see this game being Palace 1-2 Leicester. I think Leicester have gone too long without a win for a team of their quality. Although Palace definitely have the quality in their side to take the points, Rodgers know that if this awful form continues, as well as the football on display, fans will start to doubt. In addition, I think Vardy showed promise last game with his goals and is definitely a massive confident boost that Leicester can find the back of the net, I think the will to win and the need to win will help Leicester win this game.
