We were outclassed by Liverpool…!
Last night was the first match back from International break, and we had to play a really tough match against a weeker, but still very good Liverpool side.
A lot of fans went into this with high hopes, with us sitting high in the table, and a win would’ve put us back on top of the Premier League, and that Liverpool are missing a handful of key players, so what went wrong?
This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say about the Liverpool match…
“It was a big test for us, and we needed to go their and respect Liverpool even with their injuries.
They had a lot of players out, yes, it was a good time for us with no fans as well to go and get some points, but sloppy mistakes and poor play from us gave them the goals.
It was just an off day for us, and no one has gone to Liverpool and picks up all three points in the past couple of years, so we need to take it on the chin and move onto Braga and Fulham!”
Here is the match report:
Liverpool took the lead in the opening 20 minutes, as Jonny Evans headed a corner from Miler into his own net off the back of his head.
Jota headed the second goal as a slick ball from Robertson gave Liverpool a second 5 minutes before half time.
Firmino hit the post twice in the second half, which we got lucky to not concede as Albrighton cleared it off the line just 1cm before the counted as a goal, but Firmino’s persistence was rewarded in the dying minutes of the match and made it 3-0 with another headed goal from another Milner corner…
That win for Liverpool takes them 64 matches unbeaten at Anfield, a club record in the top flight.
They move to 2nd place on 20 points, and Leicester drop into 4th place on 18 points.
