Leicester move top with victory over Chelsea

First half goals from Wif and Madders powered the Foxes to the top of the Premier League, yes you read that right, top of the league! And that was also Brendan Rodgers first career win against Chelsea, and it’s safe to say it was a good way to beat them!

Ndidi fired us ahead with a sliced shot from a well worked corner that was planned by the Foxes, smacking the inside of the left post, leaving Chelsea keeper Mendy in a mud patch, as all he could do is watch the ball smack the post and ripple the back of the net!

From this point on, Leicester looked the team on top, and it was only a question of how many they can score at this point!
Vardy’s scooped shot was just kept out by Mendy on the 34th minute to keep The Blues in the match…

Just Before halftime, Chelsea were awarded a penalty after Jonny Evans fouled Christian Pulisic, but a VAR review showed the offence had taken place just outside the area…
Mason Mount fired the resulting free-kick over the crossbar and seconds later, a lack of concentration and a very smart break away play from Albrighton set up Maddison to tuck it away before half time and make it 2-0!

JJ sent a free header just wide of the post & Youri has a shot saved by Medny on the hour mark as the dominant and persistent Foxes scoured to score a 3rd and seal the deal.

We finished the match with the 2 goal lead, after Werner’s late effort was ruled offside by the linesman, and at the final whistle, our Foxes climbed into top spot!

With 19 matches played, Leicester are top with 38 points, one ahead of Manchester United, who have played a match fewer and face Fulham on Wednesday, so this lead might not last long, but it does show that we are fighting up at the top… Once again!

Chelsea lie eighth on 29 points.
