Through To The Next Round! Report by Ethan Farmer
Randers 1-3 Leicester City (2-7 on aggregate)
James Madison scored two beautiful goals to secure Leicester City’s away win and booked their ticket for the next round of the Europa Conference League.
The Foxes came into the match with a 4-1 lead and made it 5-1 within 100 seconds. Harvey Barnes made it 1-0 with a curled effort into the far side of the goal. In fact, he could’ve got his second in the second half but hit it just wide from a tight angle.
Fellow English attacker Madison hit an almost perfect freekick to double the visitors lead in the match and make it 6-1 in the tie. He followed this up minutes later with a smart finish from outside the box into the side netting to make it 3-0 on the night.
Randers got a goal back late on after Kasper Schmeichel’s bad touch gave Stephen Odey an easy finish. It ended up just being a consolation for the Danish side.
The draw for the next round of the Europa Conference League takes place today. Brendan Rodgers will be picked out against a group winner.
