How Leicester City's injured stars provide Champions League motivation for Kelechi Iheanacho - Leicestershire Live

Amartey scored 3 minutes from time to earn us a 2-1 victory at Brighton that took us upto 2nd place in the Premier League, but with Manchester United beating Manchester City 2-0, we drop 1 point behind them again and sit in 3rd place!

Adam Lallana gave Brighton a 10th minute lead, latching onto Maupay’s through-ball and slotting it in for his very first Brighton goal…

Tavares was denied a long ranged shot on target on his first Leicester appearance, but a fine stop by Sanchez saved Brighton before Lallana hit the post with a header shortly before the break…

Nacho found the side netting early in the second half before drawing Leicester level with a chipped finish from a pinpoint Tielemans pass just after the hour mark!

Kasper saved a low strike from Lallana before Amartey headed a corner into an empty net to bag the winner and 3 points for us Foxes! Yes…We scored from a corner!

Sanchez flapped at Marc Albrighton’s corner to allow a stooping Amartey to head into the net and extend Leicester’s unbeaten away run to 10 matches!

We are now sitting on 53 points, and sit just behind Manchester United who are on 54 points!

A third straight defeat leaves Brighton in 16th, three points above the relegation zone.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say about the match…
“Was it the prettiest match? No, but we came home with all 3 points which is the main thing to take away from the Brighton match. I’ve always said that consistency is our downfall at the moment, so it is good to see us keep the consistency up! I know we drew to Burnley and just narrowly beat Brighton, but at least we aren’t letting our heads drop from losing to Arsenal and Prague. You Win some, you Lose some, but it’s how you bounce back, and i’m glad that we are managing to keep up this form, especially with playing 2 matches a week and with a major chunk of our 1st team injured, so it will be nice to relax for a bit and prepare for Sheffield United this weekend!”
