Players are Leaving the Sinking Ship!?

as we’re getting into the new season for a run in the Championship, a lot of players are looking to leave the plane crash that is Leicester City at the moment…

We’ve signed some top quality players in the past 3-5 years, and we’ve also signed some real rubbish quality into the club. But with our relegation, a LOT of players are jumping on the bandwagon… “rats leaving a sinking ship” as some are calling it.

We knew that with relegation, the 7 players out of contract (Mendy, Bertrand, Tielemans, Evans, Perez, Soyuncu & Amartey) would all leave to reduce the wage bill and clear out some dead wood in the club… But that’s £100 Million worth of players we’ve let go in the same window. a win/lose situation.

But now we move onto the big question. which players are going to leave that are STILL in contract?
Who are these “rats leaving a sinking ship”?
Will we see more departures than we realised?

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say on the players leaving…
“It was obvious that we’re going to lose a good handful of players after getting relegated, but to me it shows that these players didn’t give a single toss about Leicester. A lot of players that will go have been the problem to our relegation, so at least when the F-off to a new club, they can take their toxic traits with them”

So, Who is first on the list of players to leave us?

the first man that looks to be off out the door is Timmy Castagne, and it is reported that Arsenal want him to join their rotation squad. He is reportedly going for 100K a week salary, and as far as transfer fees go, there is no official price tag on his head.

Castagne signed for Leicester back in 2020 from italian side Atalanta. Since joining the Foxes he made 101 appearances in all competitions and was a solid defender, all up until last season when the whole back line crumbled…

This season, he has played in the majority of Leicesters fixtures, making 37 appearances in a 38 game season, which has jolted him to a move to another Premier League club through his consistency.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say about Castagne leaving…
“Fair enough. We will cash out and get someone who is on high wages off the bill. Yes, he has featured in most games this season being consistent, but consistently bang average just like the rest of the defence for this season. If he can get a move to Arsenal i don’t blame him, it’s a step up from Leicester even if we’re in the Premier League”

What do YOU make to Timothy Castagne being one of the first Foxes under contract to leave the so called sinking ship?
