New Season Is About to Begin!

So, Leicester Pre-Season has come to an end, and we’re now facing Coventry City as our opening match in the 2023/24 Championship season… Nervous? Excited? butterflies in your stomach? we’re all feeling mixed opinions for our first game ahead of a long, nail-biting season in the Championship…

Coventry City where the so-called ‘best of the rest’ team from the 2022/23 season in the Championship, finishing in 5th place overall, but losing out in the play-off final to Luton Town 6-5 in a grueling penalty shoot-out.

Leicester’s shock horror season in the Premier League saw an exit after 9 amazing years, the best the club has ever seen winning the Premier League with 5000/1 odds, winging their first ever FA Cup in a 1-0 victory to Chelsea and now, losing structure, confidence and formality, finishing 3rd bottom on the final day, even after Beating West Ham it wasn’t enough as Everton scrapped by.

This is a massive match for both as it is considered their Derby, the M69 Derby. this will be the first time the clubs will play each other in well over 10 years.

“Of course we got Coventry in the first game of the season back in the Championship. Not only are they our biggest rivals, they are also one of the best clubs left from last season in the Championship so it will be a very tough match ahead of us. I hope we have a good starting 11 team ready for the match as it is a massive test for the club, new players and Enzo’s first league game in charge of Leicester.”
