Lets win our group! Zorya v Leicester!
Leicester will travel to Ukraine this mid-week match to take on Zorya Luhansk back in Europa League action. We have already booked our spot in the last 32 after getting a 3-3 draw against Braga, officially booking a spot in the final 32!
However, ahead of facing bottom of the pack Zorya, we mathematically need 3 more points to win the group and guarantee top spot in group G, let’s hope we can do it!
The group could not have gone any better for us in the opening 3 wins, as we scored 9 goals and only conceded 1.
In our 4th match we saw the real Braga turn up, and after a good match it ended as a stalemate with both clubs taking a point away from the match.
After doing really well in the group, we came back to Premier League action and lost at home to Fulham after sloppy play lead to a 2 goal lead and ended in them taking all 3 points home…
That loss has extended our run without success to three matches in all competitions…
With qualification already confirmed for us, Rodgers has the choice to risk playing a weaker side in Ukraine tomorrow night, and it could backfire to us winning the group stage, but we need to pick up some points in the Premier League…
This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say…
“I think tomorrow is a good chance to give some players that have yet to feature or have barely made an appearance a chance to get a run out. We have qualified, we are playing a very off form Sheffield United on the weekend and we NEED to pick up all 3 points against them. From what i have heard as well, Riccy P and Castagne might be in the team, which is good news to hear! we need to rest some key players for the weekend, so let’s see how much depth we’ve got tomorrow!”
Here are both teams records…
Zorya Luhansk Europa League form: LLLW
Zorya Luhansk form (all competitions): LDLDWW
Leicester City Europa League form: WWWD
Leicester City form (all competitions): WWWLDL
