Leicester look to follow their entertaining 4-3 win in Russia up with a home victory over Spartak Moscow. Since their first win in the Europa League this season, they’ve won two and lost one. This turn around in form will give Brendan Rodgers confidence that they can still qualify out of Group C.

This season has been disappointing for the Foxes despite the recent up turn in form. Before their 4-2 win over Manchester United, they had won one in nine with that win against Norwich City who have lost every league game this season. It was this sort of form that made some believe Rodgers had taken this team as far as he could.

However, there seems to be a new life around Leicester. The squad have more confidence but that 2-0 loss to Arsenal did look worrying as for the first 30 minutes, the Gunners dominated. If they start slowly again, Rui Vitória’s men could take advantage and overtake them in Group C.

Predicted line-up

Goalkeeper – Kasper Schmeichel

Guaranteed to start every league and European game. He’s scarily consistent in between the sticks for Leicester.

Centre-back – Çalğar Söyüncü

Söyüncü’s has struggled recently for form but he is still a talented defender. With a run of games, he should get back up to his best.

Centre-back – Jannik Vestergaard

Despite being in and out of the side, Vestergaard always seems to slot in with ease. His aerial presence and ability on the ball could be the key to three points in this game.

Centre-back – Ryan Bertrand

Another consistent performer, Bertrand has been an exceptional squad player for Rodgers. He can always be relied upon in a number of positions.

Right wing back – Timothy Castagne

The Belgian seems to share his minutes perfectly with Ricardo Pereira down the right flank. Castagne could be preferred in this match though due to his attacking runs.

Central midfielder – Hamza Choudhury

Choudhury has featured more this season than he was doing last term. This little resurgence of his career could see him feature once again.

Central midfielder – Wilfred Ndidi

Unlike Choudhury, Ndidi seems to be falling out of favour under Rodgers. It clearly isn’t down to a lack of form but he could be crucial in this match for stopping any counter attacks.

Left wing back – Luke Thomas

The Welshman continues to impress for the Foxes. Thomas is incredibly mature for a player of his age and seems to get better with every game he plays.

Attacking midfielder – Ayoze Pérez

Since joining from Newcastle United for a reported £30 million, the Spaniard has struggled. Despite a few purple patches, he has been underwhelming but a good performance here could be the start another purple patch.

Striker – Patson Daka

The hero in Russia has to start again. The Zimbabwean forward netted all four of Leicester’s goals in their 4-3 win over Spartak Moscow, he can’t be dropped.

Striker – Ademola Lookman

Lookman is yet to really get a look into this team. The loanee has the ability to cause teams issues as seen by his two goals in two EFL Cup appearances.
