Former Leicester City winger Anthony Knockaert opens up about ...

We signed the Frenchman from Guingamp back in 2012, and to be honest, not many if any fans had heard of him before… And he turned into a good player!

Whilst he didn’t score a lot, he did show off his skills in the Championship… His time at Leicester did not work out in the Premier League, with Mahrez coming in taking his place and Knockaert falling out with the owners/staff, which caused him to go to Brighton… And he helped them come up to the Premier League!

Anthony Knockaert: I deserved better at Leicester... that is why I ...

His raw skills and talent helped us get promoted, and yes, we all remember that missed penalty against Watford, which lead onto them scoring and going through to the play off Finals instead of us… But if it wasn’t for that memory, we would have not gone up in the next few seasons, go the Great Escape, to then win the Premier League… As the saying goes, everything happens for a reason, and for us it sure did!

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say on him…
“I remember him back in the Championship, tearing up defenders with his skill and talent, it was a shame when he fell out with the club because he could have developed into an even better player in a Leicester kit. With that said his time was appreciated at Leicester and we would not be in a position we are today without the likes of him coming through!”

This is what you, the fans had to say about him and his time at Leicester!

Ash Wootton
Poor mans Mahrez but was a match winner on his day

Tony Martin
Yes I agree with
Some not good enough for prem but okay for other like championship division 1 and 2

Steve Meads
Not good enough. Individually good at times, but not good enough for the top flight and as part of a quality team. Proven when he left us and reappeared back at Brighton, played for them but once establish in Premier, they haven’t renewed his contract either and now at Fulham. Top half of championship at best

Paul Sherwood
He was decent championship level,
Inconsistent. Not a premier league player. As proven by his in out time at Brighton.

Richard Reay
Great player but just lacked the essential pace needed at the top level. Cult hero though

Troy Southwell
Wish he stayed could of been exciting knockart and Mahrez on each wing

Paul Jagger
Loved him at LCFC. Will always be remembered, wore his heart on his sleeve.

Watch some of his highlights here, his raw skill and talent back in the day in a LCFC kit… He will always be a legend in our eyes… ‘Don’t sell Knockaert…!!’
