Jamie Vardy has been in red-hot form since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers at City

The 32-year-old had scored nine goals in 25 games under Claude Puel this season, but since the departure of the Frenchman he has taken just nine City games to double his tally.

Vardy is now just three goals behind current leading scorer, Liverpool’s Mo Salah, in the race for the Golden Boot, and could reach 20 Premier League goals for the season for the third time in the last four seasons.

He may have left it too late to win the Golden Boot, but to have a 20-goal striker within touching distance has delighted Rodgers.
