WOW… well they say a week is a long time in politics… well 48 hours is a long time at Leicester City !

Yes just 2 days ago we were all still fuming about the way we threw in the towel against Crystal Palace in that shambolic 1-4 defeat.

Most Foxes were calling for Claude Puel’s head… and the sword dropped on Sunday morning, during our LIVE Foxes Aftermath Video show hosted by 100%LCFC Jamie.

During our Monday night LIVE Fanzone show hosted by Phil, the news started to emerge that Brendan Rodgers was swiftly becoming the favourite to join the club.

We heard from many Celtic fans who said he would “never leave Celtic to come to Leicester” but it would seem they are wrong, and he has now been given permission by Celtic to come and speak with Leicester

Many are now expecting the appointment to be announced BEFORE tonight’s game against Brighton.

The King Power is going to be rocking, and let’s hope the Blue Army can roar the lads onto 3 points, which if we are honest would take the heat of Rodgers before he even starts his role.

We need to secure another season in the top flight asap, and then continue the bedding in of YOUNG talent which is coming through at City.

Rodgers has a great talented squad to work with, our view is, that they just need controlling and motivating… something we feel Puel was not able to do !

Here are some Brendan Rodgers FACTS and HISTORY to get you going….

Rodgers began his career as a defender at Ballymena United, where he stayed until he was signed by Reading at the age of 18, although a genetic knee condition forced him to retire at age 20. He remained at Reading as a coach and then academy director, and continued to play non-league football at Newport, Witney Town and Newbury Town for several years. After a period travelling around Spain to study coaching methods, he was invited by José Mourinho to leave Reading and join Chelsea as youth manager in 2004, later being promoted to reserve manager in 2006.

In 2008, he was appointed manager of Watford, where he remained until accepting an offer to become manager of his former club Reading in 2009. He left the club by mutual consent after disappointing results six months later, returning to full-time management with Swansea City in 2010.

He led the club to win promotion to the Premier League, the first Welsh team ever to do so, before guiding them to finish 11th the following season.

On 1 June 2012, Rodgers accepted an offer to become the new manager of Liverpool, whom he led to runners-up position in the league in the 2013–14 season before his dismissal in October 2015.

He became manager of Celtic in May 2016 and led Celtic to an undefeated domestic season in his first year at the club, and secured a ‘Double-Treble’ by winning trebles in his first two seasons.

HERE are the FANS VIEWS on the news….

David Scott
A seasoned well respected, established manager, who’ll have more idea than the uninspiring Puel.

Dave Bryan
Fully support city we all said no when Ranieri came in look what happened city fans believe and support our club

Jason Wale
Sounds good to me, let’s get behind whoever comes in next

Alexander Smith
He’s a step up from Puel

Ross Elsby
Rodgers could be great….I mean he took Liverpool to second……and he did wonders at Swansea…..he won everything at Celtic which isn’t all that impressive but at least he kept winning there. Rafa is another great choice. Eddie Howe won’t leave Bournemouth, they look a lot better than we do currently. Wagner…..dunno if he’d be up for the job. Lennon could so a solksjaer who knows.

Thomas Hands
I bet him and the club agreed it ages ago, there’s no way we would get a replacement this fast

Danny Wallin
Karma for Celtic taking O’Neil ! But I’m looking forward to see how it pans out

Alex Munro
Right appointment if given time. Brings charisma, great with youth so will continue to trust our youngsters, gets his teams playing skilful but direct football.

Matthew Fox
His first job is to get rid of Ghezzal

Joe Gorham
First 3 games lets see how player perform

Sue Shelley
Lennon did well at Celtic too doesn’t mean he would be good at city, I think Rafa would be a better bet.

Paul Hillsdon
He might be a manger the players like and want too play good football for

Matthew Gregory Medler
he is an upgrade to Puel! would of preferred Rafa though!
