FAN REPORT by JAMES HARLOW

Our final Pre-season game was last night at the King Power. A good outing for the foxes with a good 2-1 win to prepare themselves for a trip to the Emirate’s for the curtain opener of the 17/18 season.

The squad is announced and no Drinkwater, a few Chelsea sites are stating he is having a medical, but the club confirm he is injured. Not sur what to believe but will see as this Drinkwater transfer story unfolds.

The foxes made a slow start and spent the first 15 mins defending their own box but did well to contain the mazy runs of Hazard and co. Vardy looked sharp and missed a few chances. Leicester held their own in the first half but didn’t look the team of last season.

As soon as the second half kicks off, Hazard scores with a magnificent goal from outside the box, not sure what we could have done to stop it, like his brother he looks one hell of a talent.

On 66 minutes the moment the foxes’ fans were waiting for on comes new boy Headache and ‘the magician’ Mahrez comes on. I was disgusted at a small selection of our fans booing Mahrez when he was warming up, in my opinion you should never boo a fox.

James then passes a great ball to Vardy and the foxes are level, a great strike with a great pass. Matty James has been great all pre-season.

Mahrez then passes to Iheanacho, he looks up the crowd want him to shoot and score but he is a world class striker and looks up and picks out Vardy its 2-1 what a goal the build-up play from Mahrez and Iheanacho was sublime.

7 minutes from time Iheancho goes off injured, it looks like he twisted his ankle and he is going off as a precaution.

A good pre-season outing with the fixes clearly on top in the second half. Positives for me are James was great again and probably deserves to start against Arsenal. Mahrez, Iheanacho and Vardy look like a formidable front line. The negatives for me are the injury to Iheanacho and Gray drifted in and out of the game and didn’t impact the game much.

Now onto the Emirates for the curtain opener….
