Leicester City have made a fourth bid to sign St Etienne defender Wesley Fofana as the Foxes continue their desperate search for a centre-back, according to reports.

L’Equipe say the Foxes upped their offer for the teenager over the weekend which is said to be worth a total of €40m.

It is said that the latest bid is €35m in cash up front with a further five coming in potential bonuses

St Etienne had previously said they would be unwilling to do a deal for the 19-year-old, but is claimed Leicester’s latest offer has now sparked a conversation between the club’s board and they have yet to make a decision.

The Ligue One club’s manager Claude Puel, who used to manage the Foxes, had insisted the player would not be leaving for any price during the window.

West Ham had also seen an offer rejected for the 19-year-old who made it clear in an interview earlier this month that he was keen on a switch to the King Power.
