Final Pre-season Match!
Leicester host Sevilla this Sunday in their last preseason game.
The last time this two met was in 2017 in the last 16 of the Champions League. That time Craig Shakespeare’s side won 3-2 on aggregate thanks to a 2-0 home win. But since then, there has been a lot of change for both sides.
But it has been a good preseason for Leicester. They have won three of their five matches, scoring 13 in the process. However, it didn’t start well, losing 2-1 at home to National League side Notts County followed by a 3-3 draw away to Belgian side Leuven.
Brendan Rodgers’ team turned their form around as they went on to win 4-0, 3-1 and 2-1 against Hull City, Derby County and Preston North End respectively. In these matches, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall got a lot of praise for his performances which could see him trusted with a bigger role in the squad this season. But with no European football for this season, minutes will be harder to come.
This form can give the fans optimism going into this campaign. Although they are yet to make any signings, having players like Wesley Fofana fully fit returning will feel like new signings.
This will be the Foxes last match before they host Brentford on the opening weekend of the Premier League. But Leicester will kick-off at 6pm this Sunday as they continue to prepare for the season ahead.
