Dwight McNeil to Leicester?! Another Burnley player lined up!

From yesterday, rumours had it that we where interested in signing Tarkowski from Burnley, with a pricey tag over his head sitting at £50 Million Pounds, which we think is way too much money for him, although he is good, surely not £50 Million good?!

As these rumours came up, less than 24 hours later, we are interested in youngster Dwight McNeil! The 20 year old is British, an attacking Midfielder… Do we need another player like that? Is Maddison and Perez enough for us? Or are we looking to sell one of our Central Midfielders?

McNeil has made 60 appearances for Burnley, with 38 of them coming in the last season alone, so he has become a regular 1st team player for them. He has only scored 5 goals in his Premier League career, but he is a young prospect who is a more creative midfielder and sets up goals rather than scoring them.

“I’d love to see him in a LCFC shirt, but by the sounds of it, Burnley will be wanting ridiculous price tag, like Tarkowski. For me, if they are withing the 10-25 Million range i think that is acceptable, but for a youngster with potential but not yet fully developed, anymore is a robbery and not worth our time…”

“Burnley boss Sean Dyche has warned potential suitors it will take a hefty fee to land McNeil.

“The business comes first, of course, but there’s also a bit of moral fibre there and we can’t stop a player from having that opportunity,” said Dyche.

“But I can assure you it will only happen if the numbers are correct.

“The numbers now in our world are high and we’re in a position to say no, we don’t need to sell anyone.

“So if anyone wants to come for any of our players, they had better have a war chest.”

Dyche recently said he was “confident” of keeping hold of prized assets McNeil, James Tarkowski – another player linked with Leicester – and Nick Pope.”

This was from the LeicestershireLive online news paper article, and by the looks of things, they are willing to sell him, similar to Tarkowski, but they will be asking for a ‘hefty amount’ for McNeil. How much is he worth? Should we go for someone like him or not?
