Did Rodgers get it wrong v Brighton?

Did Brendan Rodgers get it wrong against Brighton? As soon as we saw the team sheet and we where playing with 2 Central Defensive Midfielders in Ndidi and Mendy together, most fans were a bit puzzled as to why we set up defensively against Brighton, and at home!

Brighton bounced off the back of a 2-1 win against out of form Arsenal, but they are still in the bottom six, so we should have realistically won that if we are pushing for a top 4 place.

With playing two CDM’s, it meant that Maddison was playing a bit wide, and Gray was lost just lurking in and around the Midfield.
With this there was no support down the middle to the strikers, which meant that we had no attacking threat for a lot of the match.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say…
“I don’t understand why we played the way we did, but it was not great. Crossing the ball against 6ft tall Centre Backs and Vardy and Nacho are not that attacking with their head. And playing Ndidi and Mendy meant that we sat off and played without any Midfield”

How should we set up against Chelsea in the cup game this weekend? Should we play a mixed team or send out a fully prepared squad? Should we concentrate more on the League rather than the cup or should we go for the cup?

We asked you, the fans, about Rodgers decision and how the league stands at the moment…!

If Rodgers blows 2nd place (16 point lead over 5th at one stage) and a cup semi over villa I don’t see how he can keep his job

Adam Lambert
Let’s be honest our first game back a draw away to Watford isn’t terrible. Then only 3 days later we are at home against Brighton who let’s be honest sat deep and defended brilliantly like most teams of that calibre try to do away to us. Let’s no panic yet, yes we need to get winning sharpish but it’s no like we’ve lost both games I’m confident Rodgers will get them firing again Keep The Faith!!!

Ian Wright
We have chucked it away with poor team selection & don’t give squad rotation! You only do that if your squad is good enough. Ours isn’t.

Adam Callaghan
We’ve lost the groove a bit but a win should boost the confidence…its a shame cos I desperately want the FA Cup as well but that isnt looking great either now.
Were in a great position but hopefully Chelsea slip up and we can pile on the pain and get some confidence.

Ashley Little
our last 3 games being Sheffield, Spurs and Man U if we’ve not secured CL by then we could be in big trouble

Christopher Rodwell
I’m concerned we won’t be able to hang on to the fourth spot. Leicester are not on their game when other teams are.

Luke J Sculthorpe
Slipping. No top 4 im afraid. Weak team selection no clue and no plan b

James Hill
We haven’t made it easy for our selves, we’ve already dropped 4 points. I’m not feeling confident as I did.

Costa Georgiou
Its shaky atm.
We literally have to take one game at a time. The media will , as always put the pressure on. We simply need a win…..desperately, then take it from there.

Ash Wright
If we beat Chelsea on Sunday I can see our form switching

Darryl Elliott
We are a fans team, we really are struggling without the fans being present especially at home. We really need to start taking some chances
