City go into 4th Round

Nigel Pearson made 7 changes, but it was a chance for some of the fringe players to come in and get a full game under their belt and show what they have got. With Mahrez and Schlupp off to the African Cup of Nations, and injury’s around Cambiasso, King, Hammond and Drinky it proved a good time for a run out for the likes of Knocky, Albrighton and Lawrence, who all had decent games today.

The main aim is to get into the next round, and that is just what Leicester did, with Ulloa scoring the only goal of the game. City had 8 shots, with 3 on target, while Newcastle who were particularly poor managed only 4 shots with 2 on target. The away support was certainly NOT impressed at the end with their lads ! 4,500 Geordies all booing and jeering their team off the pitch, whilst there was fist punching and celebration amongst the City fans.

So that makes 2 wins and a draw this week, and that is JUST what we like to talk about. The ocean liner LCFC has started to turn the corner, and now we are all desperate for the next game at home against Villa…. not quite a six pointer like the Hull game was, but, we could really do with a home win and 3 more vital points. If we managed that, perhaps even some of the Pearson Out Brigade would start to #Believe !?
