Championship Goal Scoring Machine to Leicester?!

One latest rumour that is doing the rounds is Joel Piroe from Swansea to join Leicester…

He is a 23 year old Netherlands player, who started his professional career at PSV in the Dutch League, making 14 appearances for them in his short spell at the club, scoring just 3 goals in those matches in all competitions.

He then made a move to Swansea in the Championship back in 2021, and has hit the ground running at the Welsh side.

He has made 89 appearances in all competitions, scoring an outstanding 42 goals and getting 8 assists. With that in mind, this all happened in a very average Swansea side. In his first season they finished in 15th place out of 24, and he scored 22 goals in 45 matches. In their second season, they managed to finish in 10th place, with Piore scoring 19 goals in 43 games, a very consistent player and a high threat in the Championship.

Should Leicester sign Piore as a proven Championship player? Would he be vital in their first season back in the Championship? With this said, we are NOT the only club rumoured to be interested in signing him… The likes of Premier League sides Nottingham Forest and Everton are interested in the Dutch forward, with newly Relegated side Leeds are also sticking their nose into the business.

“100% we should sign him, he has proven to be consistent over 2 seasons, making almost a century of appearances for the club in that time whilst racking up a track record of 1 goal every 2 matches, and all this in a average Swansea side. If he joined Leicester i could see him bagging in a few more goals than previous seasons as we should be, on paper, the better side. I can only assume this means we are looking to sell one of our Strikers before we sign him, Daka or Iheanacho, as there would be a lot of options to choose into the 25 man squad. Paper talks show Iheanacho could be off with only 1 year left on his contract. As for Daka, would this also mean his time is up if we sign a new striker to start ahead of him? Only time will tell, but we need to put pen to paper for Piroe” – Sam

“I would love to sign some proven Championship players to help us into the Premier League first time around. We’ve still at the moment got Daka, Vardy and Iheanacho, but with Vardy getting older and Iheanacho rumoured to leave the club, and obviously i think Daka could be vital in the Championship, but if we sold Iheanacho i would love to see Piore come in and score some goals for us” – Reedy
