5 things we learned from Leicester v Southampton - Fosse Posse
Social-distance celebration!

Goals in both halves from Maddison and Barnes earned the Foxes a 2-0 win over Southampton at the King Power Stadium.

Maddison fired the Foxes ahead in the 37th minute when we receive a pass from Youri Tielemans, and finished emphatically in the top of the net from a tight angle, and a lot of people thought he hit the side netting, but it was the opening goal!

Leicester were twice indebted to goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who, on his 400th appearance for the club, superbly denied Che Adams and Ryan Bertrand.

Stuart Armstrong struck the crossbar as Southampton pressed for an equaliser, while at the other end, Jan Bednarek cleared Barnes’ shot off the line.

Barnes struck in stoppage time, keeping his cool to finish beyond Alex McCarthy after racing on to another asist from Tielemans

Leicester, now unbeaten in five Premier League matches, go second on 35 points, a point behind leaders Manchester United, who face third-placed Liverpool on Sunday.

Southampton drop to eighth on 29 points.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say from the match…
“We have now gone 5 matches without losing, we are keeping very consistent at the moment, and if we are being serious title contenders, we need to keep this form, especially when Manchester United and Liverpool, who are also fighting for the top place, drop points against each other.
We got 3 points against a very good Southampton side, now we need to go and get some more points against a mixed Chelsea side, which is another test for us, but if we can get some points, it will show how much we are fighting this season!”
