Can we progress in the Europa League?!
We take a break from the Premier League to challenge Slavia Prague back in the Europa League 2ng leg this Thursday night!
While the Foxes occupy 3rd place in England’s top flight, Slavia are sitting 10 points clear in the Czech Liga, dropping only 6 points in 19 matches, so it’s not going to be easy for us in the 2nd leg!
Achieving Champions League football remains our top priority, and probably our best chance of getting that comes through the Premier League now and staying in that top 4 to get it!
Nevertheless, Rodgers knows that there is a good opportunity to win this competition, and doing so would get us automatic Champions League, but it would also be a massive boost to the Leicester team and another trophy in the cabinet!
Losing James Justin for the remainder of the season is a huge blow, although the Foxes are now able to call upon the likes of Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu.
With Aston Villa to come on Sunday, Rodgers will make alterations to his starting lineup, but he will want to maintain the momentum generated from the 3-1 triumph over Liverpool at the weekend.
While Leicester came through a group involving Braga, AEK and Zorya Luhansk with relative ease, Slavia Prague had to make do with finishing as runners-up to Bayer Leverkusen.
Although the Czech outfit would have progressed as group winners with a win at the Bundesliga side on matchday six, they were comfortably beaten by a 4-0 scoreline.
Come on Leicester! Let’s get the win!
