Paul Merson makes big James Maddison claim amid Arsenal transfer interest - Leicestershire Live

James Maddison has reportedly agreed to personal terms on a contract with The Gunners…

according to ‘The Hard Tackle’ Madders has agreed personal terms with Arsenal, and that they could be pressing for a contract soon.

Rumours have it that we wanted around £60-75 million for Maddison back when they started to get interested in Madders at the start of the window, but now it looks like they are willing to put an offer in for him this season for around our asking price… Would this be a good move for Maddison and Leicester?

Arsenal’s search for an attacking midfielder has seen them linked to numerous stars across Europe. Emile Smith Rowe is already present at the club to feature in a similar role, but Mikel Arteta has used the youngster in varied positions, including as a wide attacker.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say about Maddison potentially going to Arsenal…
“I think it would be a shame for Maddison to leave us, but at the end of the day we’ve seen players that want out, so if he doesn’t want to play for us anymore then there’s no point holding onto him. I’d much rather try to keep Tielemans than Maddison, and in my honest opinion having Maddison and Tielemans on the same pitch shadows’ Youri’s tallent and pushing him into a more defensive role which he doesn’t seem to shine in. Yes, i would prefer him to stay, but if he wants out is there any point in trying to keep a player that wants out? we’ve seen it with Mahrez when he wanted out he under performed…”
