Leicester host Graham Potter’s Brighton in the EFL Cup tonight. Both sides come into this with contrasting form.

The Foxes have got three wins on the bounce following one win in all competitions in seven. Compared to Graham Potter’s men who have only mustered one win in five games since beating Leicester 2-1 in the league.

Brendan Rodgers has got his side looking back to their best, kick started by their turnaround against Manchester United. The 4-2 win saw the East Midlands outfit score three in the last 13 minutes of the match.

They took this momentum into the midweek Europa League match. A Patson Daka masterclass saw Rodgers’ side leave Moscow with all three points, the Foxes’ first in Europe this season.

This was followed up with a lacklustre 2-1 win at Brentford. Despite them not playing near their best, Leicester still managed to leave with a good result. This win saw the side climb up to eighth in the Premier League, a good turnaround as they were 13th going into the Man United match.

Predicted line up

Goalkeeper – Danny Ward

The Welsh shotstopper has been a good backup for Kasper Schmeichel over the years. The cup competitions are his chance to prove he’s still a good goalkeeper.

Centre back – Daniel Amartey

Amartey has rejuvenated his Leicester City career after getting chances due to injuries. He could be vital if Leicester want to win another trophy this season.

Centre back – Jannik Vestergaard

New signing Vestergaard has been in and out of the side, making seven appearances this season. If he starts taking his chances, like Amartey, Rodgers could have a good selection headache on his hands.

Centre back – Ryan Bertrand

Bertrand has been quietly good this season. Never spectacular, but he’s still consistent, which could be hugely important if Leicester want a cup run.

Right midfielder – Timothy Castagne

The Belgian has impressed when he has been given a chance this season. Having already made nine appearances, he will be disappointed he is yet to get a goal involvement which is uncharacteristic for him.

Central midfielder – Wilfred Ndidi

This match has been built as Ndidi vs Yves Bissouma, however, there will be many battles going on. But Ndidi could be the key to breaking up Brighton’s attacks.

Central midfielder – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Dewsbury-Hall has taken some fans by surprise. Going into this season as an unknown, he already looks like a good squad player in his limited minutes.

Left midfielder – Luke Thomas

The Welshman seems to improve in every game he plays. He looks like a solid fullback but an exceptional attacking wingback. Don’t be surprised if he wins Man of the Match.

Attacking midfielder – Ayoze Pérez

Pérez still hasn’t lived up to his £30 million price tag. He has the occasional purple patch but overall has underwhelmed. Although this is bad news, it means he only needs one good game to go on a good run, why not tonight?

Striker – Kelchi Iheanacho

The former Manchester City striker has been one of Leicester’s best players in the last 18 months. At times he has been unplayable and will love drifting into pockets of space infront of Brighton’s defence.

Striker – Ademola Lookman

Lookman is clearly a talented player but yet to really settle anywhere. Rodgers is a fan of his and wants to give him more chances but the former Everton winger needs to start taking them.
