Annoyed Unlucky and Still a Slim Chance of Relegation

So that was annoying.

We again had another narrow defeat away at Arsenal just like last season, we battled on until a late OG which was no fault of Robert Huth.

It was more than annoying, and we still have the slim chance, but it is still a chance if we don’t watch it of getting dragged back into the relegation battle.

Boro and Sunderland look doomed, and we have a game in hand, so simply 3 more points should make us safe, but now we are out the Champions League, the sooner we get safe we can start to all look forward to summer holidays and who we may release and who we need to buy to have a proper go back at finishing in the top 6 of the Premier league next season.

But the match last night was frustrating, Leicester never really got going, yet we had more than a couple of decent chances between Vardy, Mahrez and Oki…. and DON’T even start about Sanchez !!!

Our pals at ESPN thought this about the match :

Leicester City’s cruel luck at Arsenal continued with another late defeat. The 1-0 loss cost the Foxes the point they needed to probably (if not mathematically) secure safety.

Positives

Leicester deserved to keep a clean sheet, which is no mean feat at the Emirates Stadium. Yohan Benalouane is getting better by the game, making Wes Morgan’s fitness less of a concern. Surprise inclusion Leonardo Ulloa also proved a valuable asset and could see more playing time down the stretch.

Negatives

Leicester still aren’t safe and if they lose away at West Brom could start nervously looking over their shoulder. The Foxes will want to get to at least 37 points as soon as possible.

City played for the point, and that was obvious from the first whistle. We didn’t take the game to Arsenal at all. Once again our possession was pretty dismal. When you give the opponent so much possession, and your playing for a point its so easy to end up coming away with nothing. The players still need to show more passion. We need to do more than just kick the ball up field in the hope Vardy might manage to get on the end of it. We also concede too many fouls, and that can also be our downfall. If we do have a change of manager for the start of next season,i would like to see the likes of Dyche come in, he seems the type of manager that demands commitment from the team. We have some dead wood to get rid of at the end of the season, and we definitely need some strong players, players who have proved they can play well in the premier league, we don’t need to keep going abroad and bringing in players who may well struggle with the way our game is played. We need to start next season a lot better than we did this season, there is no reason why we cant stay in the premiership for many years to come, we just need a team that is committed and determined.
