And The Next Leicester Manager is…

So, it’s been over a week since we got relegated from the Premier League back into the Championship after 8 long years back in top flight football, we have been humbled and placed 18th place, 3rd bottom, relegated…

We have had highs and lows in those past 8 years, from winning the Premier League with 5000/1 odds to 7 years later getting relegated, but now is the time for action and to move forward as quickly as we possibly can to get ourselves back into the Premier League… Right!?!

As fans, we have 0 clue who the next manager is, but we can discuss the latest rumours and names that have popped up into the mix…

Before we talk about WHO and WHEN, this is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say about the manager situation at Leicester…
“In my honest opinion, We need someone who is ready to take us back up to the Premier League. we’ve waited too long in the past to make these decisions, so we need to act fast as to who comes in as it already is dragging out longer than we need it to”

What do YOU think to our slow business model…?

Graham Potter

Graham Potter plots Chelsea revenge after lining up new Prem job and choosing first transfer target

So Graham Potter is a massive name that has been linked with Leicester to take over the new manager spot. Will we really see him come to Leicester in the Championship?

He got sacked by Chelsea earlier on in the 22/23 campaign after being promised a “5 year project” that only managed to last 5 months, and has been quiet ever since that moment.

There is a rumour that he CANNOT sign for another Premier League club for 12 months after his sacking due to a clause in his contract (similar to Poch after Spurs) but with Leicester being in the Championship, could this be a new and challenging club for him to come and sort out?

There has also been a rumour that Potter would come on the condition that he would get 100% backed by the board and also have full control over transfers and internal deals within the club (I.E Signing new players, his own staff and so on) which the club are reportedly hesitant to give him full control after Brendan Rodger’s was given the same power at the club and his decisions was a massive factor into a relegation.

There is also a chance he could get the chance to take on the Palace job… He lives close to Palace and this would suit him as a new campaign, the only problem would be a bit of riverly from old club Brighton…

So, can you see Potter becoming Leicester’s new Manager for a season in the Championship?!

Dean Smith

Dean Smith puts Leicester survival squad in place for another great escape

Dean Smith came in to try and fix the mess that Brendan Rodger’s had created this season, and with very little time, probably not enough time, he couldn’t keep us up in the Premier League… BUT does that mean he will not be the new manager for the upcoming season?

He came into a deflated, toxic and hostile Leicester side, and in all fairness he actually tried his best to get some points out of some very tough teams… In his 8 games in charge, he got 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, 9 points overall in the end, which would on average of a 38 game season would be roughly 40-45 points, which isn’t amazing, but it sure would have been enough to keep us up this season…

He has got bags of experience in both the Championship and Premier League, and he has been in and around the squad for the best part of 2/3 months now, so why wouldn’t we take him on for a season in the Championship?

“For me Smith did an okay job. yes, we didn’t stay up, but let’s be honest anyone that blames Smith for getting us relegated is living under a rock. He came in to the picture to a toxic club, and tried his best at the end of the day to put the jigsaw back together after rodgers destroyed it piece by piece over the past 18 months.
Would he be good for us in the Championship? Maybe, maybe not, but at least he is ready to start now. today. and he now knows the club a lot better. but as were 8 days after the end of the season (as of the 05/06/2023) and the club has gone dead silent, i assume we will not be keeping Smith on…”

Steven Gerrard

What is Steven Gerrard's net worth & how much does the former Liverpool star earn? | Goal.com UK

The man himself, Stevie G, former Liverpool Midfield Icon of a player has recently got his badges in the past 5 years and is moving from being a top, top player to a… Good Manager?

In his recent, but short spell at Aston Villa he was incharge of the club for 37 matches from the middle of the 2021/22 season in November taking over from, believe it or not, Dean Smith! what comes around goes around…

After an impressive start to help keep Aston Villa in the Premier League for another season, the 2022/23 season came rocking and his time was short lived as after 4 months in charge he got sacked after losing 3-0 to Fulham, making his time in the Premier League as a manager short-lived.

He did make an impressive start to his managerial Career though, after helping Rangers find some form after their FFP regulations have set them back, but he got them in flying form again, albeit in the Scottish Premiership…

“For me Gerrard has a lot to prove as a manager. too much to be a Leicester Manager. He got a lucky move to Villa from Rangers and it was clearly a mistake. He has not managed a club in the Championship before, and has only been a manager for the past 4/5 years. yes he is looking to become a good and reputable manager. but if you ask me, to come back to the Premier League we need a manager with more experience as the championship is a very tough league, and for Gerrard to come in when he has 0 Championship experiences as both a manager and a player, i feel it could really be a massive mistake”

these 3 names are the front lead to take over the Leicester job, but as per usual, the club are being beyond slow with making a decision on this, and there is no real name that has had much pull or realism since the end of our 2022/23 season… Will Top and the board be making any decisions anytime soon or will there eyes be fixated on the horse racing still… When will our club take action for the consequences bestowed upon them…
