Southampton 2-2 Leicester

Leicester come from behind twice to earn hard fought point on the South coast.

The visitors gave themselves a challenge within the first three minutes. Jan Bednarek reacted quickest after Kasper Schmeichel saved Mohammed Salisu’s header from a corner.

Fellow centre-back Jonny Evans got the Foxes level after tapping as he followed up Wilfred Ndidi’s saved attempt in the 22nd minute. But this only lasted for 12 minutes.

Che Adams restored Southampton’s lead as he headed home from Nathan Redmond’s cross. But this lead was wiped out by the 4th minute of the second half. The equalised came from James Maddison who cut in on his right foot and placed it into the bottom corner.

But again, Brendan Rodgers’ side failed to take their chances. Alex McCarthy pulled of an excellent save from Harvey Barnes’ effort and Jamie Vardy failed to take his chance after puncing on Kyle Walker-Peters’ mistake.

The game had a stoppage before Leicester’s second equaliser due to a medical emergency in the stands as a fan was stretched away by paramedics.

This result moves Leicester up to eight-place with 19 points from 14 games.
