A tough match in Europa! Leicester v Braga
Tomorrow night we will face our toughest match yet in the Europa League group stage against Braga, who are on equal points as us, making tomorrow’s match as people would call it a ‘6 pointer’
Both clubs are trying to maintain their perfect winning starts in Group G, as we host Braga down at the King Power!
Both clubs picked up all six points against Zorya and AEK, but for at least one of the clubs the winning streak is going to end tomorrow night, as both Braga and The Foxes want to get all 3 points!
We have had a good run in the Premier League, and in Europa League, winning our last 4/4 matches, after winning 2-1 against AEK and 3-0 against Zorya in the Europa League.
Youri Tielemans put the ball in the net 2 times against Leeds to put us in 2nd place, sitting 1 point behind League Champions Liverpool, so it is safe to say we are off to an amazing start, and players like Youri are stepping up to the plate this season to help us achieve the unthinkable again this season!
Playing 2 matches a week can be daunting enough, but with the fact that we are missing out on Soyuncu, Riccy P, Ndidi, Evans and Castagne on the fringes of coming back, but are still injured, is amazing that we are doing as well as we are!
If we win tomorrow night, we are putting ourselves in a very good position to move onto the final 32 in the Europa League…
Braga enter this match on a six-game winning streak in all competitions, though, just scraping by in a 1-0 win against Famalicao.
That win put Braga up to Third in the Primeira Liga, 4 points of Sporting Lisbon, after six fixtures.
Braga are a regular feature in European competitions, and reached the Europa League final back in 2011, although they have not gone further than the first knockout in the past 4 Europa League appearances.
The team’s best players!
Jamie Vardy has started our past 2 matches but is running himself dry and we might see Nacho come in and take control upfront, saving Vards for Wolves at the weekend.
Although, mass changes are not expected to happen with our most important match in the Group Stage, but players like Maddison, Under and Wes Morgan can come in and do their job if needs be!
We have been playing with 3 at the back in recent matches but we might be tempted to go with a flat back four against Braga, who tend to work a 4-4-2 system, which has been working for them so far!
Horta and Paulinho are Braga’s go-to top men up front, with them scoring six goals in the Europa League from just 8 shots on target! Elsewhere, Nicolas Gaitan is likely to get the nod in midfield alongside the more defensive-minded Fransergio.
possible line ups:
Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Schmeichel; Justin, Fofana, Morgan, Fuchs; Choudhury, Mendy; Under, Perez, Albrighton; Iheanacho
Braga possible starting lineup:
Matheus; Esgaio, Viana, Silva, Carmo; Moura, Castro, Fransergio, Gaitan; Horta, Paulinho
let’s make it 3/3 in the Europa League group stage tomorrow!
