4 Goals, 3 Points… A Step In The Right Direction?!
Tielemans scored 2 goals in Leicester’s move into 8th place as we beat Newcastle 4-0!
Youri put them ahead with our first Premier League penalty of the season on 38 minutes, after Madders has been brought down by Lascelles.
Daka then doubled the lead 12 minutes into the second half when he slotted away Barnes’ pass into an empty net, after a flowing move involving Madders and KDH.
Newcastle rallied after the second goal and after Jonjo Shelvey had two efforts blocked, they almost got a goal back in a bizarre fashion when Schmeichel had to scramble back to kick clear a wayward backpass from Castagne.
But Youri hit a 3rd for us on the 81st minute when he drove the ball into the roof of the net after Madders helped Daka’s cross.
Maddison sealed victory after a clever one-two with Daka.
Leicester are now on 22 points after their first win in three, while Newcastle remain 19th on 10 points, three adrift of safety.
This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say…
“It’s all well and good saying what a win etc… But yes, we put 4 past Newcastle, but against a poor bottom 3 side. Yes we managed to keep a clean sheet, but we need to keep this form, the defence still looked a bit shaky, and they should have scored with a stupid pass back from Timmy… Only time will tell, and as we face a decent spurs side this Thursday (if it’s on!)”
