2 Games, 6 Points, A LOT Of Happy Foxes! Report by Matt Ballard
Harvey Barnes helps Foxes over the line
A big week for Leicester ended in back to back wins for Brenden Rodgers’s side to help boost the hopes of a top-half finish with a 1-0 over a Leeds side rejuvenated by new manager Jesse Marsch.
While Leeds was on top for most of the game, a lovely angled finish mid-way through the second half from Harvey Barnes showed the difference between the sides, with Leicester able to convert the big chance they got. In contrast, Leeds spurned many significant opportunities, partly thanks to the great Dane in the net.
The skipper acted fast to prevent big chances in the second half from Rodrigo and Jack Harrison, which meant It could have been a completely different result.
After the match, the gaffer said: ‘’ I thought we deserved the three points; I have so much praise for the performance and courage from my team today, especially after a resilient performance at Turf Moor on Tuesday.’’
Another bonus for the blues will be that Jamie Vardy managed to get through unscathed, although all in all uneffective, his return to fitness will only boost the huge run Leicester will be facing in the league and Europe.
Next up for the side is arguably their biggest game of the season at home to Rennes in the conference league, more than likely their best route into Europe this season, followed by Arsenal at the Emirates next Sunday
